Workshop: Telling Your Creative Story Online

A few summers ago there was a cowgirl caravan that came through Whitefish.  They called themselves, Sisters On The Fly.   SOTF is a group of women who travel around in caravans across the country with their shabby chic pimped out travel trailers in search of incredible outdoor adventures.

It’s a membership based group of women supporting women to GET UP, GET OUT and GO become adventurers in their own lives. It’s friggin awesome. Their motto is:

We have more fun than anyone.

When you check out the SOTF caravan you immediately notice that every trailer is intricately designed by its owner, reflecting her own unique style and tastes. Some were 50’s retro, others were delicate and feminine, some were simple, spacious and modern. The trailers took on a personality of their own, and that of their owners.

Each one told a unique and authentic story.

I was so moved by the Sisters On The Fly, I vowed to become a member one day.  How grand to be part of a group of empowering women, lifting each other up, harnessing creative energy and putting it out there.

But maybe we can start a Sisters style movement now in our own community.

Putting It Out There is a day long creative gathering at Stumptown Arts Studio in downtown Whitefish, Saturday, October 24th.

I’ll be working alongside encaustic artist, Shawna Moore and together we hope to inspire other creatives to explore the online tools of websites, social media, content and copy, and basic marketing to harness your own unique super powers and storytelling.

We’ll also review resumes, bios and artist statements that will give us the starting point for understanding how to use online tools for increasing your exposure and opportunities.

Each one of us has a voice that needs to be heard and shared with the world. We are so lucky to now live in a time where the internet makes this possible.

Don’t be intimidated by the technology.

Don’t let fear be the loudest voice in your head.
