Social Media for Non-profits

SMforNPSome of our clients that we have had the pleasure to work with in 2012 were non-profits.

In fact our very first project was helping a non-profit – Vote Yes Whitefish – pass a school bond for a new high school. We relied heavily on social media to tell the various stories of why our town needed a high school. From building issues, student & staff concerns, 21st. century learning and community pride, we kept an online presence with the overall goals of raising information & awareness.

One of our more recent campaigns just ended for the Glacier National Park Fund (GNPF) – a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to raise funds for essential projects in Glacier National Park. Our 8 week social media campaign was to bring awareness and interaction between GNPF, its followers while also providing important news regarding their recent merger with the Glacier Association. Via their Facebook Page and Twitter accounts, we highlighted the projects both organizations were involved in. We also ran a successful Logo Idea contest for the new merger organization which resulted in an increase in interaction, awareness and some really great creative ideas for the new organization. Through this strategy, GNPF can now take their online audience and ask for their help in their fundraising efforts to help with future projects for Glacier National Park.

Social Giving Tips:

Our success working with non-profits & social media all comes down to four main points.
